Post #28 (The Birds are Back!), 3-29-11

I loved photographing the ducks landing on the lake!  I wish I had my aperture lower and my shutter speed higher, but I was shooting in the moment and did not have time to change it.

I took this picture with my phone on my Habitat trip.  I like the way the sunlight captures a rainbow in it.  In this image, the light adds to the picture.

This is an image shows using light to produce shadows to make the image.

Friday was our last day one site.  These are pictures of the house we helped to build!

The front side of the house!
This is the main living area of the house.  We used it as our working station.
The hallway of the house.... we put up and painted all the trimming
around the doors and the baseboards around the floor.
We also cemented the floor of the shower.
Outside of each of the Habitat Houses, they poor cement blocks so those
who helped with the house can carve their names into the blocks.... here is my name!

After work on Thursday, we drove up to the Colorado-New Mexico boarder!  We continued our drive into Colorado and hiked up a mountain to a Shrine.

Wednesday was our day off!  We hiked down into the Gorge, and swam in the natural hot springs!

On Monday night, a snow storm hit... so there was a blanket of snow when we woke up on Tuesday!

The house we were working on.

The view from the house!

The mailbox of a neighboring Habitat House.

After working on the house today, we went to the Taos Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.

After a hard day of work, we took a trip up the mountain to Taos Ski Valley.

Over Spring Break, I went to Taos, NM with Habitat for Humanity to build a home.  Because we were in the middle of no where, I did not have cell service, and was not able to post during my trip.  This post, and the next five posts, are pictures taken during my trip.  The date which I took the pictures follow the post number.  (these were taken on my "point and shoot" as I did not feel comfortable bringing my SLR to a work site).

This was the Church our group went to on Sunday morning.  The following pictures are from the surrounding area

An old Adobe house which had been condemned.

Chili peppers hanging next to a window of a house next to the Church.

Some stores next to the Church.
